The Basics of Ring Tones
A ring tone is the sound made by a phone when a call comes in. The idiom, now days, is typically used to refer to the custom sounds and music accessible on cell phones. Customized ring tones were first intended to help people distinguish their ringing phone from others around them, as many call signals sounded similar in the earlier days of cell phones.
A phone rings when a certain signal is sent to it. For regular telephones, the ring is produced by the electronic switch to which the telephone is linked. For cell phones, the ringing signal is a specific radio-frequency. The first commercial mobile ring tones were invented in Finland in 1998, when a mobile operator started offering a downloadable mobile ring tone service which allowed the general public to create simple sounds. The idea spread quickly to Europe and Asia, and soon grew into a multi-billion dollar industry. By 2005, ring tones generated more than $2 billion in annual worldwide revenues. Excerpts from pop songs have become especially popular as ring tones.
A Great Way to Find Out if You Should Switch Broadband Providers!
Recently my broadband deal came up for renewal and, instead of just using the same internet provider that I have for the past year, I decided I should take time out from my busy schedule and compare broadband deals, to make sure I was getting the most for my money.
After spending a good hour visiting various providers, and comparing their prices and services, I was pretty lost! I mean, they all seem to sell the same thing, broadband internet, but they all also seem to use different terms, and offer different limits on bandwidth, and I wasn’t sure what I should choose…
Then I came across a site called broadbandchoices, and I have to say, this solved all my problems. On the site, I was able to read all about the different deals with broadband bundles and got lots of advice.
Then I used the sites comparison service to compare broadband options available specifically to my postcode area! I signed up to a deal that saved me a fair bit over the period of one year, and I even got a free Wireless router into the bargain!
So, I would seriously advise any readers to visit the broadbandchoices site, and check to make sure they can’t do better than their existing deals! – I will do it on a semi regular basis, probably about a month before my existing contract runs out, as it seems things in the world of broadband move fast, and the deals just seem to get better! – And I for one don’t want to miss out on the best offers!
